Starting out on Etsy is hard. Very, very hard. You'll find those who will say 3 sales in a month is fantastic, but if it's not paying the bills, then it's not all that great, is it? I've tried there myself and even at .20 to list, it adds up quick. I like your idea of hosting giveaways. It should really increase traffic to your blog, which is what you want.
