#LéaLA2013 Latino Book Fair

My first language is Spanish. I’m fluent in reading, understanding, writing and speaking Spanish and I want my daughter to be the same. I just started following your blog and I love it! I wish LA was closer!!

My husband (native Spanish speaker) and I (Spanish as a second language) have two children that didn’t speak Spanish at all their first 5 years, so something like this would be SO fun to go to! Now that our firstborn has been in Spanish Immersion for a few years, she is speaking fluently and it would be extra wonderful to bring her! Maybe next year we’ll have to take a trip to LA!

    Thanks for sharing!ReplyCancel

  • Sounds like a fabulous event! My boys’ sitter speaks Spanish, and to them, so I wish I understood it better. I think language is such a great thing to study and just enriches your life!ReplyCancel

  • First of all, your little one is positively gorgeous, she looks so sweet and spirited! I think it is amazing to cultivate a love of books in children at a young age, it expands their world so much! I am not bilingual but I think it is something that is so important to teach your kids, and helps them embrace their culture on a much deeper level! I wish I could attend the book fair because it seems like a lovely event and I have a couple of little girls in my life who I’m sure would love some books in Spanish, but unfortunately I’m on the east coast. I hope you have a wonderful time!ReplyCancel

#SorbetLight Less Cake, More Frosting Brunch

Thanks to Smirnoff Vodka, two weeks ago we had an intimate brunch to taste the new Smirnoff Sorbet Light Vodka. I don’t drink much, only socially and one drink or two at most. Me and the hubs love a good homemade drink so we love trying out drinks and we were impressed by the taste…
