With this heat, a popsicle is very much appreciated! I had the opportunity to review Zoku.
What is ZOKU?
Zoku is a company that produces quick popsicle makers called The Quick Pop™ Maker.
Their packaging was great and there was no sign of damage. I received the new Duo Quick Pop Maker to review. It included 1 Duo Quick Pop Maker, 4 sticks, 4 drip guards, 1 Super Tool and bonus Super Tool.
How it works: The Duo Quick Pop Maker freezes ice pops in as little as seven minutes on your counter-top without electricity. The Dou Quick Pop Maker is a sturdy plastic base with a liquid that can be found on ice cream makers. It has two individual molds and are made of non-stick cast aluminum. You will have to freeze the ZOKU Duo Quick Pop Maker for up to 24hrs before starting to make posicles. The Super Tool screws into the popsicle stick and helps to lift the frozen popsicles from the mold.
Testing out ZOKU: I had one Popsicle fail. I tried to make some Oreo popsicles but as it states on their manual instruction; ice cream or pudding will stick to the mold and be difficult to remove. I just had to try it out and it was true. It works best regular juices.
So, I made some Jello posicles instead. To prepare the Jello popsicles, all you have to do is prepare the jello mix as directed on box and the popsicle sticks and pour the jello mix. It took around 15 minutes for the jello mix to freeze. So I was able to do only 1 batch and had to wait about another 24hrs for the Zoku Duo Pop Maker to be ready. Jello popsicles are great for toddlers.. since it will not drip as much as regular posicles and when it defrosts; the popsicle turns back to Jello.

Pros: ZOKU was simple and straight-forward to use. With no cords and electricity to use; that was awesome! Kids can definitely use it but I would recommend w/supervision or 8 years or older. The texture of the pops were absolutely great; smooth and in a perfect mold.
Cons: Batches take much longer to make. Its tricky to pour the ingredient in the ZOKU because the stick is on the way and if you spill a little on the side it will immediately freeze and pops will not come out as perfect as their pictures show.
Overall, Zoku’s Duo Pop Maker is great! I will have to experience making popsicles using juice. Some While making Jello Popsicles; the only thing I dislike is that I was able to do only one batch at a time. I had to wait for the Duo Pop Maker to defrost, wash & dry before I tried making another batch.

Other products I loved from Zoku is the Character Kit. Perfect to make popsicles with the little ones.

I’ve got a Zoku – got it for Christmas and am SOOO much in love with it. I am going to be trying “Jello” pops sometimes soon (I’m hoping to replicate, a bit, my famous Turkish delight – I’m thinking lemon jelly crystals and rose water). One thing, though – you mentioned that you could only do one batch and then couldn’t do another for 24 hours because you fully thawed, cleaned, and then refroze the Zoku. This is unnecessary, in my experience. Most icy poles (okay “pops”) come out clean. Just stick the Zoku back in the freezer unless you’ve got a compelling reason to clean it well first. I did once have a Nutella and custard one break so I had to completely clean it but, most of the time, I make the icy poles and then stick the Zoku right back where it belongs. In a couple of hours, it’s generally ready to go again.
Cleaning spills on the top is also easier than anyone ever leads one to believe. Once they freeze solid – which takes almost no time – just push them off with your fingers. Consider it a sneak peek into the flavour of the icy pole!
