Have you done one?
I did one for Kelly (now 5 years old) and added a little card — business card size, to her party invitation asking guests to bring something to add to it.
I did it this way since the party was made up by not only family, but close friends of her grandmother's.
My mother-in-law passed away 4 months before Kelly turned 1 and she had so many people who loved her, and they all loved Kelly because she made her last days so enjoyable, that they all wanted to be a part of her first birthday.
It was very special.
I still miss her every day — I am such a baby, that I am tearing up as I write this. Ahhgh
