Hello everyone!
The other day I made some delicious doughnuts for my two loves.
Here is the recipe/tutorial so you can also make them!
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups of Flour
1/2 cup of white sugar
1 Egg
1 pkg of Hight Active Yeast
1/8 cup of Warm Water
1 1/2 cups of lukewarm milk (Warm Milk)
1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
Vegetable Oil for Frying
GLAZE:
Cake Frosting
Icing Coloring
Directions:
On a small bowl add warm water and sprinkle the yeast; let it stand for 5-10 minutes or until foamy.
Prepare all your ingredients.
For the Lukewarm Milk: Heat up milk on microwave for about 30 Seconds.. or until warm.
Add all the ingredients in a LARGE bowl and MIX (Salt,Sugar,Shortening, Yeast Mixture, Egg, Warm Milk, and ONLY 1 cup of Flour)
If you are using a mixer like mine.. you can now change the whisk with the dough hook.
HERE is when you add the remaining FLOUR. Add more flour until the dough is not sticky.
On a lightly flour surface knit the dough for about 5 minutes. Place the dough on a lightly grease bowl on a Warm Place and cover. Let it stand when it doubles it size. It may take up to 1 hr or when you touch the dough and the indention remains.
When dough is ready! Begin to roll out a 1/2 inch thickness
Since I had no doughnut cutter.. I used what I had, a glass cup and star cookie cutters.
Heat up oil on a pan. Deep fry the doughnuts until golden brown and then turn over.
Here are the Star Doughnut holes.. Deep fry them if you want.
For and EASY and delicious GLAZE. Buy a cake frosting can. I prefer the white one so I can add my own choice of color. MELT in microwave for about 30 Seconds or until melted.
Add your own choice of Food Coloring
Mix Well
Decorations of your choice.. I used what I had on hand!
And VIOLA!! SO YUMMMMY!
Thanks!!!
