Disneyland & Disney California Adventure

This was our first trip as a little family to Disneyland. I haven’t been to Disneyland in more than 12 years and it was such an amazing experience. I felt like a kid again! It sure is the happiest place in earth!

We visited both parks: Disneyland & California Adventure.

The weather that day was really sunny and very hot. Disneyland sells a convenient fan that sprays water; so we bought it and it helped us pass the heat. The lines were long on some rides so that spray fan was well needed.

The stores at Disneyland were so tempting, we wanted to buy everything! They had something for the whole family.

All day long we were looking to find Donald Duck but we couldn’t find him. It’s our favorite character and we were sad we weren’t able to meet him and take pictures. The line to Mickey Mouse house was very, very short and we were able to see him within15 minutes. We were also able to meet Pluto & Goofy.

Things I loved about Disneyland:
– The shuttle service. It’s worth to pay $15 for parking as the shuttle bus will take you the main entrance and pick you up once they close or will take you back if you want to leave early.
– The Disney Stores inside are filled with lots of variety of things for the whole family.
– The Parades & Fireworks Shows.
– Meet and  greet Disney Characters
– Customer Service

Things I disliked:
– We missed Donald Duck!
– We weren’t able to ride the big rides because of our little one but we were fine with that. As long as she had fun; we were happy parents!

Disneyland is truly a magical place!

After a few hours on Disneyland, we visited California Adventure. This was our first ever visit there and it was so much fun! California Adventure recently added Cars Land and wow, it was awesome. It was like being inside the Cars Movie! Another favorite place inside California Adventure was the A Bug’s Life were there was a splash zone & rides for the kiddos.

My favorite ride in California Adventure would be the Little Mermaid. My little girls eyes and expressions were priceless! There were so many other rides we couldn’t ride due to not having someone else with us to watch our little one but I’m sure they were fantastic!

Here are some shots I took at Disneyland & California Adventure:

If you are planning on visiting Disneyland I recommend the following: a small cooler w/refreshments, snacks, sandwiches, a spray bottle, extra pair of clothes, good walking shoes, sunblock, sunglasses, hat or umbrella, and stroller. Try to visit Disneyland during the weekdays, non-holidays so it would be less packed and you will be able to experience Disneyland at a better pace.

I’m sure most of you have visited Disneyland, what is your favorite part about Disneyland? How was your experience like?

Disclosure: I received complimentary tickets to attend Disneyland & Disney California Adventure for the purpose of this review/post. All opinions, content and pictures are my own.

  • What a FUN Visit you Had! i did not know that they had the Cars and Bugs Life themes there. It is absolutely a Magical Place. I agree about going on the off season so that it is easier to manage the little ones in lines and with people everywhere. Great tips on what to bring too. We recently went to Disney in FL and loved it, but I want to go to CA to see how they compare. Thanks for sharing – the photos are Great!ReplyCancel

The pics are great. We are going in a week and my boys are really exited about Cars Land. The best thing to do if you have little ones & have someone else with you or don’t mind riding alone is to get a switch pass. Its a little Disney secret and most rides have them (new rides will not have it for at least 6 months to 1 year). All you have to do is ask for it. The first group will wait in line, then you ask one of the cast members for a switch pass and the next group can go through the fast pass line. It works great specially if you have one kid who can do the big rides. My husband and I take turns on waiting in the initial line and our oldest gets to ride twice. We found out the best time to go is in September since all school are back in session. The lines are about 20-30min long and it is not to hot.ReplyCancel

  • Oh my gosh! What wonderful pics! I can’t wait to take my Alice. In our whole family my Alie and myself are the only one’s who haven’t been yet. Our local Zoo has misting fans, not just the misters but huge fans that spray a cool mist with them and they are a HUGE hit! There is usually a line just to stand in front of one. I really LOVE that you mention bringing a cooler of food and drink. That means you can! We loved our trip to Seaworld but you are not allowed to bring in any outside food and that was a HUGE bummer. I really hope we make it to Disneyland soon. I would LOVE to see the Bugs Life area. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • I live in Florida now and we have annual passes and go to disney world every few months. We love it but man I loved Disneyland when we went several years ago.

I almost died laughing when you posted the picture of the ferris wheel. We went on swinging part and my mom thought we were going to die! My sister and I STILL make fun of her and laugh about it 6 years later…ReplyCancel
