I found the cutest crown on this site.. and decided to make my own for my little Aries!
Here is what you need to make a lace crown!
– Lace – 1-2 Inches Width
– Fabric Stiffener or Mod PAGE (I tried both but Fabric Stiffener works best)
– Metallic Gray Paint and Glitter Paint (Optional)
– Fabric Flower, Buttons
– Paint brushes
.jpg)
.jpg)
Directions:
- Cut desired length of LACE.
- Use a cardboard or plastic and begin spreading the Stiffener with a brush. Let dry for about 1hr.
- Once the lace is dry.. PAINT.
- Once painted lace is dry, hot glue it together and attach a flower or button 🙂
To make the flower: I used a satin fabric and burned the edges with a lighter.. (Be careful doing that!) and attach a button/rhinestone setting.
VERY EASY!
To place it on your baby girl’s head.. use bobby pins. I’m looking for a better way to place the headband.. and I will let you know if I do. Below is my little girl modeling her new lace crown. This crown is so perfect for a little photo shoot.. for a birthday party or just because! Don’t you think?

Very pretty crown! I have never tried the fabric stiffener, I always mix glue with water, equal parts, and it seems to work real well to.

adorable! The best way to have it stay in place without pins is to make it the size of her head. Then she can put it on or take it off whenever she wants. I’m SO going to do this with my little girls!!
Thanks for the tip and for visiting over 😉
you are really creative! i super love it…

I recently applied Mod Podge to a crown, and after 4 applications, it was still flimsy. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Hi BJ,
I tried Mod podge but the stiffener worked better. They can be a little flimsy. I also read to microwave it.. Not sure how long though. microwave it after you add the mod podge.
I’m hoping to make this for my little girl for her friend’s princess birthday party. do they stay on pretty well? or how would you suggest keeping them secure?
They won’t stay as much and I would recommend it to use it only when taking photos.
I used only bobby pins but they aren’t that secure. We only use the crowns when taking photos or as a decor on her room 🙂
Love this! You could attach it to a plain headband to get it to stay put as well =)
Just use liquid starch. Put the lace in pure liquid starch the take out excess. Let dry on cardboard circle. Or when still damp not wet iron flat and glue ends together to make a crown. Ironing works best.
