#MichaelsMakers Summit Recap & Free Craft Classes

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Michael’s.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure to attend the first #MichealsMakers Summit where I was able to meet and mingle with many other great creative bloggers and the Micheal’s team; the Michael’s Makers. I’m so thrilled and happy to have been selected by Michael’s among the other 49 amazing bloggers to be part of this year’s team. The whole trip experience to Sonoma California was breathtaking. We had drool worthy views of Sunny Nor Cal followed by breathtaking décor and very inspiring team! During the Micheal’s Maker summit, we were able to take some classes taught by  Michael’s education partner, Creative Bug. We took mini watercolor, weaving, paper flower making & image transfer classes and I have great news –  each of the classes are available online for FREE on Michaels.com until 8/22 so you can take the classes I took and get inspired.

Each of the classes inspired me so much that I hope to show you some projects inspired by the classes I took during the Michael’s Makers Summit. The weaving class taught by Annable Wrigley had be giddy about yarn! I love knitting, so weaving was my favorite of all. Make sure to take her class on Michaels.com.

The Paper Flower making is so amazing to take, I have made some paper flowers projects on the blog but making flowers with Livia Cetti was truly inspirational. Livia is premiere paper-flower and still-life artist. One trick I loved so much for creating paper flowers is the dip-dye process she does to tissue paper give the flowers a more natural look. Take the classes at Micheals.com and learn how to make paper flower.

The watercolor class was so relaxing and very inspiring as well. I have always loved watercolor, and have tried making my own arts but I was never able to bring my visions to life. While taking the class, I realized how amazing watercolor is, and with a little inspiration, watercolor is possible to achieve.

The last class I took at the Micheal’s Makers Summit was the image transfers. I was so amazed by how easy you can transfer images. Did you know you can transfer standard laser print paper images using only packaging tape? So amazing, I tell you! Take the class yourself.

If you haven’t met all the 50 creative bloggers that are part of the team, check them out here. Hope you follow along this creative journey and share you own projects using #MadeWithMichaels.
