Toddler Fashion: Mom to Daughter’s Blouse

Sometimes when I don’t like what I see in the children’s department, I switch over the teenager or adults clothing department and look for XS clothes that I could tailor. I’ve done this a few times and loved the way they fit my little Aries after I fix them. I found a cute trendy top in Nordstrom rack for $15 and the length of these type of blouses is the perfect size for toddlers. I only had to tailor the sleeve and adjust it with a simple bow clip from Claire’s in the back. At first I thought it was too “adult dressy” but I loved how it looked on her!

There are two basic adjustments you can do to tailor these type of blouses on toddlers: Sleeves and Waist. At first, I didn’t know what I was doing tailoring blouses for my daughter but, I knew I had to give it a try.

I simply cut the size of my daughters then make a new seam on the sleeves and waist. I’m no expert at all at sewing so I give it my best. These are the only things I can do with my sewing machine: Pillow Covers, Tailoring basic stuff like my husband’s jeans, and making super short projects that require sewing.

Pants: HM Shoes: Walmart  Blouse: Nordstrom Rack  Bow Clip: Claire’s

Hope you enjoyed this quick project I often do with. Let me know if you have any questions.
