Halloween DIYs and What Halloween is for me..

Let me tell you first that I’m not a big fan right now of Halloween and
I haven’t been crafting anything for Halloween.

Back then when I was about 8yrs old, I remember having so much fun with my sisters, nephews and nieces “Trick or Treating.” Even my older sisters would dress up (as a bear and a wolf) and asked for candy themselves too. I remember my dad being the driver and he would follow us on his truck.
All of us, (my sisters, nephews and nieces) were riding on the back part of the truck and once we saw a house decorated my dad would stop the truck and we rapidly got out of the truck running to the front door and yelled “Trick or Treat!”
It was so much fun that we would get home late with a big (grocery plastic bag) full of candy
Me and my sisters stayed up late trading candies with each other and separating the ones we didn’t liked.
I was always a witch… as we used the same costume every year.
That was Halloween for me…

Then all change when I was growing up.. mainly when I entered High School then College.
When I was in College, it was all about dressing up sexy and going “Clubbing” with my friends.
It wasn’t so much for candy but for being the candy!
 That was Halloween for me…

Last Year, I took my little one on her 1st “trick or treating” on a near by neighborhood.
We were not doing anything but it was a last minute thing and we dressed her up as a lady bug.
Now,  I will be staying at home giving out candy to all my neighbor kids.
That is my Halloween now..

I will be decorating a little space I have of my nephew that died at Iraq on 2010.
He was born on Halloween and he was a year younger than me. He was one of my nephews I had so much fun trick or treating and was always the one dressed up as Scream.
Those were the days.. I really miss him!
Here are some last minute fun Halloween Decorating Ideas I LOVE!

Firstly Angie I am so sorry to hear about your nephew, that is so sad…
Secondly, that martha stewart vase is seriously creepy!! But I do like the idea of the spider leg pumpkin tealight candle holders (say that five times!) even though I HATE spiders!!
I only hand out treats too, my kids dress up with the neighbours kids but I don't. However your idea of 'being' the candy during your clubbing days sure sounds fun 😉
You would've been very sweet candy!!ReplyCancel
