My baby girl is not a baby no more. She turns 7 next week and I just can’t handle her growing up so fast! She is the sweetest, polite girl of my life. They may not like it when we call our kids babies but hey in our mind and heart they will always be our babies.
In celebration of her upcoming birthday, I’m making her these birthday unicorn pancakes! It’s your turn, make your unicorn fan girl some unicorn pancakes.
Here is what you’ll need:
- Pancake mix
- Food coloring
- White fondant
- White edible flowers
- Assorted sprinkles
- Mini marshmallows
My preferred pancake mix is Hungry Jack. We use all the time for our Pancake Sundays.
First, making the unicorn horn. Twit and roll thin strips of fondant. Thin and thicker from top to end. Then twist both strips of fondant together. Cut to about 3 inches of length. Let dry to get it a little stiff. Once dry. Insert two toothpicks to the bottom. Then paint using edible gold dust by adding a bit of water to a clean brush.
Make two pancakes out of pink, yellow and turquoise colors. Stack together.
Add horn. Then arrange the flowers and mini marshmallows. To make the marshmallows stick, brush a little bit of water to the bottom of the marshmallow and stick them to the Pancake. Add sprinkles. Surprise your kiddos or kiddo at heart!
Will you be making some unicorn panacakes soon?
