  • Okay, I seriously teared up reading your post…so very true a simple “you look pretty” can mean so very much, young or old. Growing up, that wasn’t ever said… for elders fear that you’d get a BIG head…I feel like maybe I would’ve had more confidence at a younger age had that not been the case. I tell my daughter all the time that she’s beautiful and looks pretty or picked out a nice outfit. It’s such an important part in any child’s life. Boys even like to hear that they look handsome or their spiky hair is cool. Either way, a positive influence is always the best!

    Thanks for writing this!ReplyCancel

I’m sorry you went through that. In my family every topic is up for talks, I am very thankful that both my mom and dad always talked with me about everything. To this day they are one of the first people in my life to hear news be it good or bad. My husband and I are raising our kids the same way and we are always talking with them and encouraging them. It is so important to build self-esteem at home.ReplyCancel

  • I feel your pain. Although, I was always told I was beautiful I didn’t always feel that way because I was different looking then the rest of my family. I grew to see what they all saw but it took me a long time.
I always tell women and girls just how beautiful they are inside and out whether they believe it or not, I do!ReplyCancel
