Leap Frog LeapPad 2 Review

I’m so thrilled that I was given the opportunity to review the NEW Leap Frog LEAP PAD 2. It is now available for purchase almost anywhere, Walmart, Target, Toys’RUS & many other stores.

My little girl is in love with her new LeapPad2.She was able to quickly understand and learn how to use the Leap Pad 2.

LeapPad 2 fabulous new features are: a  higher resolution front and back camera, more memory space, faster processor, improved battery life, two new in-built in games, and rechargeable battery pack option.

Those upgrades make a difference. I wasn’t sure what the old LeapPad so I checked out the first LeapPad at the store. To give me the feel of how the old Leap Pad functioned. The new LeapPad2 feels much, much better, with a faster response when turning  it on or changing between pages to browse through the apps.

The two new apps: Cartoon Director and Art Studio are an awesome addition to the other regular apps from the first LeapPad. Cartoon Director allows you to snap photo of a friend or family member and then put their head directly into a story before recording their own voiceover. I also received two game cartridges; Phineas and Ferb & Disney’s Brave. We tried both and they were so cool; even for me.

What I love about LeapPad2 is it’s durability. The quality of the LeapPad2 is strong and have passed the clumsiness of my little one. She has dropped the LeapPad2 twice now and seem it will last a long time.  Another feature I love is the rechargeable battery option(sold separately). Now I won’t be able to keep buying batteries and I can have to option to simply re-charge them.

Overall, the quality & price  is reasonable. The LeapPad 2 is perfect for the little ones to learn and entertainment. What is not to love about a toy that is fun, educational & very entertaining for the kiddos.

Disclosure: I received a LeapPad2 for the purpose of this review. All opinions and content of this post are my own.

I have downloaded a lot of the Baby Bus free apps for my tablet and at 9 months he can navigate pretty well within the app (unless he is sleepy, then watch out!). I have been wanting one of these since sharing mine on coupon days became difficult! I did not even think about the extra durability or the rechargable battery pack, that would be a must in this house! Dual camera for recording and taking pictures, you can use it for music, not to mention reading and writing which he is really getting into. The biggest feature that looks great to me and would get me to buy if I had the fund…is the rechargeable battery pack. That is just amazing. It is one of the biggest reasons we didn’t get the leap pad when it came out. We live on a very small budget and we knew we would go through way too many batteries. My son understands this so he said okay. But we would be so grateful to be able to put a gigantic smile on his face with the new leap pad.ReplyCancel

Jessica R - My daughter has only owned one Leap Frog toy and it was a Leapster. One day we were going to the grocery store and a man walking down the side of the road stopped by my car at a red light, stuck his hand in my window (scared me half to death) but he handed me a LEAPSTER and told me to “be blessed” and walked off. It was clean but a little scratched up (i’m guessing some kid threw it out their car window) so I took it home and bleached it and bought a charger at Best Buy. It would only work if it was plugged up though. She played with it for a while and lost the charger. I would love to win this for her. Nice giveaway!ReplyCancel

Chev Sopkin - The Cartoon Director app, and the front & back camera seem like the coolest options to me. Well, those and the fact that the speed is much faster than the 1st Leap Pad. My son would just die to have this… He’s 3 & definitely a modern techie kid. He teaches my husband new things on his iPad all the time… curious & not afraid to “mess things up” like adults… which is good AND (can be) bad! The fact that this is made for his little hands means he is more likely to keep them off of hubby’s iPad & my phone! lol.

My favorite toy by them is the Tag Jr. so far, my son really loves it.

Thanks!! What an amazing giveaway! And just in time for the holidays too <3ReplyCancel

Kathleen Kellams - I like the durability of the LeapPad2 because I’ve got 3 daughters that fight over everything and if it can withstand being dropped by 1 child, hopefully it can survive being pulled, dropped and thrown. Another thing I like is the rechargable feature on the batteries. That’s always a plus in my book with any toy I can buy. It saves on having to constantly buy batteries. I usually stock up on rechargable batteries and put them in my daughters toys.ReplyCancel
