Canvas Wall Art Tutorial

Here is a DUAL CANVAS WALL ART tutorial, using a simple paper stencil.

What you need is the following:

Two stretch canvas ($6 for both at Walmart)
2 paint colors ($1 each )
Sponge brushes and paint bruses
Tape
Cardstock paper to create stencil
xacto knife

First you will need to decided what you want kind of image, shape or clip art you want on your canvas.. Try to choose a simple and easy to cut clip art. I chose a DAMASK clip art. You can find these online by searching  for Free Damask Clip Art.. Then print out {You might need to print out in two papers to get a bigger image} and trace on a Cardstock Paper . Use Xacto knife to cut out and becareful using the knife!:)

I had this stencil already cut out from one of my previous projects..
Wall stencils can be very pricey so I decided to make my own from paper..
I used a metallic gray acrylic paint I had on hand.

Do a second coat with a brush or the sponge brush!

Remove the paper stencil… there will be some mistakes.. but its ok! Imperfection is a beauty too!

  Let dry and VIOLA!
It was so fun making it.. really easy and cheap to decorate a plain wall with a Canvas Wall Art made by YOU!
I’m doing a bigger one for the bedroom! These can be also a great Handmade Christmas Present!

Heather Tovey - This is pretty brilliant. I can see an entire series of these in my house. Some with two canvas, and I bet you could do wonders with even more canvas (like a picture separated into four). About how long did it take you to finish?ReplyCancel
